Carmen Martinez

Carmen Martinez, Yale School of Drama

Carmen was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She moved to the US to pursue a BFA at The Rhode Island School of Design (GD ’08). Upon completion she moved to New York and worked at The Museum of Modern Art.

Back in Peru, little by little she stopped working in graphic design and transitioned into theater where her she worked on El Ballet Municipal de Lima’s production of The Pharaoh’s Daughter, Rent and The Addams Family for La Gran Manzana Producciones. She is now finishing her MFA at the Yale School of Drama where her credits include: Owners by Caryl Churchill, Associate Scenic Designer for These Paper Bullets by Rolin Jones (Yale Rep), House Beast (Carlotta Festival of New Plays), The Fatal Eggs, White Rabbit/Red Rabbit, Christie in Love and Chamber Music (Yale Cabaret).

She hopes to make her career grow, and someday return to South America.
