David Moyer is a costume designer, performer and maker of things.
His design work includes the Tony award winning Forbidden Broadway, Pheadre Les Oiseaux with director Jean Baptiste Sastre, and drag superstar Sherry Vine’s Carrie at PS122. His work has also been seen at REDCAT, The Menier Chocolate Factory, Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival, and on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
As an assistant David has worked with legendary designer Alvin Colt, as well as, Emmy award winning designer Hugh Durrant on Cher’s concert tour Dressed to Kill. David holds his MFA in Design for Performance from the California Institute of the Arts. His work at CalArts includes The Threepenny Opera directed by Kameron Steele, as well as, Bent directed Fran Bennett. Recently David designed the world premiere of Alice Tuan’s play Hit at LATC and is currently collaborating with Janie Geiser on her new piece Fugitive Time at Automata.
