Leslie Smith, NYU/Tisch

Leslie Smith is a New York based lighting designer originally from Portland, OR.

Recently she worked with JoAnne Akalaitis on One Acts (NYU), an evening of Pinter’s “The Dwarfs” and Beckett’s “Footfalls” and “Rockaby.” Other productions include: Meantime dir. Janet Zarish and Stephen Fried (NYU Tisch); The Nutcracker NYC ch. Giada Ferrone (Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater); Penelope Discotheque dir. Tara Ahmadinejad (Columbia University); Lazarillo (Milagro Theatre) dir. CarlosAlexis Cruz and A Suicide Note from a Cockroach (Imago Theatre) dir. Carlos Alexis Cruz.

She is a resident lighting designer and supervisor for Tisch’s Second Avenue Dance Company where she designed pieces choreographed by Crystal Pite, Alex Ketley, and Nathan Trice among others. BA Lewis and Clark College 2008; MFA NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2014.
